THE PRAYER OF REQUEST
The prayer of
request is usually a prayer that we petition on behalf of ourselves. Generally requests of this nature are such
things as forgiveness, mercy, deliverance, salvation, etc. with the intent that
God’s will be done and not our own.
John 5:14-15
ESV
And this is
the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to
his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we
know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
Will you
Pause today to make a request?
Forgive my
infractions no matter how slight, in word, thought and deed
Have mercy
upon my soul and guide me through this day and into the night
Deliver me
from darkness and fill my heart full of light
Let me shine
love, gratitude and appreciation wherever there is need
And in all
things, let me support your will and rejoice when it is done

THE PRAYER OF AGREEMENT
Prayer in
unity is spiritually powerful. The
prayer of agreement is a prayer that involves more than one person.
Matthew 18:19
ESV
Again I say
to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done
for them by my Father in heaven.
When
commencing the prayer of agreement with others, we are in a united spiritual
agreement. Spiritual agreement is not
the same as having opinion agreement.
Opinions should not influence the intent of the agreement. Opinions about God or what God should be
doing or how to do it will weaken and ultimately destroy a prayer of
agreement.
Transparency
is paramount to a powerful prayer of agreement.
Spiritual agreement asks us to be absolutely certain that each of us is
on purpose and in alignment with the same intent. A prayer of agreement cannot be against the
will of another, (regardless if we are praying for someone not in our immediate
presence).
When asking
someone to pray with us, we must clearly explain what it is that we are asking
of the other person. And likewise, when
someone asks us to pray in agreement with them, we need to inquire about the
specifics of their request.
As we invoke
the prayer of agreement, we can also invite Jesus to pray with us to strengthen
the prayer.

For where two
or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
When we call
a prayer of agreement in the name of Jesus, we are agreeing to be in harmony
with Christ Consciousness – that is – we are agreeing with God. The prayer of agreement must be on purpose
with the intercession of Jesus who is in perfect alignment with God. Thus, those who are praying together in
agreement are agreeing to God’s will.

LIVING IN THANKFULNESS
How present
are we in the now? Where have we
invested our energy? What is our
perspective?
No matter the day, it can be a combination of joy and discomfort depending upon our
viewpoint and stance. Sometimes, an
overwhelming amount of difficulties crowd us and we lose our way. When this happens to us, it is vital that we
shift our focus away from discomfort and
refocus our energy on being thankful.
When we live
with the intent of being thankful, our thankfulness opens the door to
happiness. Once we open that door, maintaining
happiness is a choice and can become stronger the more we tend to it. To stay on point,
we have immediate tools available to us at all times: mindfulness, awareness and purpose.
By utilizing
the tools of mindful awareness and focused purpose, we can cultivate a daily practice
of thankfulness. The cost of practice is
nothing. The benefits are priceless.
